The jews harps of the master Roman Sklemin from the Perm region are true works of art. Subtle rich engraving on relief faces of decks, curled tail, an unusual cover of fragrant juniper - all this gives its harps individuality, a unique appearance. Here is what Roman himself tells about the process of making vargans:
"Creating a vargan for me, first of all, is a creative process. All vargans are forged, made entirely by hand, I use electric tools only for final polishing. I approach each tool individually, I do not use templates, sketches. Therefore, each vargan is unique. When decorating I use automatic writing technique, patterns do not repeat".
The sound of Sklemin's vargan varies from instrument to instrument, but it is always consistently rich in overtones, rich and bright. His jews harps are very responsive, allow you to play in any technique.
Due to the heavy workload, Sklemin makes to order only 10-12 jews harps per year, the queue for his instruments currently reaches two years.
